Synthesia
Explainer and training videos with AI avatars: enter text, choose a presenter, output in many languages.
What it does
Synthesia turns a script into a video in which a digital presenter delivers the text. You choose from over a hundred avatars or have one created in your own likeness, add slides, images and screen recordings and output the result in many languages. Changing the text requires no new shoot, just a new render. Interactive videos come with Pro, SCORM exports for learning platforms with the Enterprise plan.
Who it suits
Training, onboarding, product explanations and internal communication – wherever content needs frequent updates or several languages.
Data protection for businesses
The platform runs on servers in Ireland with backups in Frankfurt. A data processing agreement is available, along with certifications to SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, 27701 and 42001. According to the vendor, customer data – inputs and outputs – is not used to pre-train its models; fine-tuning with it happens only on the customer’s written instruction.
Limits
In the free tier, videos carry a watermark and cannot be downloaded. Billing uses credits whose amount is limited per plan; the free tier includes ten video minutes a month. Avatars can look stiff in long videos – short sections work better.
