Workflow automation from Berlin: connect applications, add AI agents, optionally on your own server.
What it does
In n8n you build workflows from building blocks: a trigger – a new email, a form, an appointment – starts a chain of steps across more than five hundred connected services. AI blocks summarise texts, classify requests or act as an agent with their own tools and knowledge sources. Where needed, you write a step in JavaScript or Python. Human approvals can be added at any point, and thousands of templates make it easy to start.
Who it suits
Companies that want to automate recurring processes while keeping control: lead handling, support triage, syncing data between shop, CRM and accounting.
Data protection for businesses
The cloud version runs on Microsoft Azure and stores data in the EU; you can sign a data processing agreement online. According to its AI terms, n8n does not use customer content for training. If you need full control, run n8n on your own server or completely offline – then data only leaves your premises where a workflow sends it.
How we use it
n8n is one of our standard tools when workflows need to be connected quickly: AI-assisted document processing, email workflows, CRM integrations and custom AI agents. For clients with strict data protection requirements we run n8n on their own server.
Limits
n8n is not open source in the strict sense but “fair code”: internal use is free, while reselling or embedding it in your own products requires a licence. The cloud plans limit the number of executions. Complex workflows need technical understanding.
